THE TIME HAS COME TO PREVENT CANCER

Cancer is a disease where abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue. When a
mass is detected in the lungs, liver, kidneys, and testes as well as abnormal cells in a pap smear,
the first thought anyone has is that it is unusual, possibly cancer.
These Are a Few Things to Think About
Cancer develops over many years. More than half of all cancers are preventable.
90% of cancers occur after the age of 55. There is some genetic element (influencer), but in 55 years a lot can be done to live a healthy life, avoiding certain chemicals and environmental carcinogens to prevent cancer.
50% of cancers occur after the age of 80, and 50% of people in their 80’s develop dementia. It is important to live a healthy life, knowing what is coming.

Early Detection
Genetic testing in susceptible individuals (in families with cancer) is improving. The means of detection have been enhanced greatly: home stool test, screening colostomy, Pap smear, self- examination of breasts, mammogram, MRI, and CT of the lungs of smokers.Early detection matters because early cancer can be treated with surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. After all, folks do not die from cancer; they die when cancer metastasizes.
Causes of Cancer
- Smoking contributes 85% of lung cancers.
- 50 different carcinogens are in the tobacco that is smoked.
- One-third of cancers are caused by obesity (because of the obesity epidemic).
- 60% of Breast, colon, and prostate cancers can be prevented.
- High glucose in diabetics or high sugar in pre-diabetics (80 million prediabetics) contribute to the onset of cancer. Most of these individuals are mostly in the overweight/ obese classification. Glucose and fructose (in HFCS) feed young cancer cells; they help these cells divide, grow, and spread to other organs. If we like sugar, then so do the cancer cells.
- Alcohol One drink a day helps the heart. More than one drink increases the risk of breast cancer. Alcohol is a cellular toxin that damages mitochondria, the organelles that burn fat. Unburned fat, like sugar, is a fuel for cancer cells, promoting obesity and half of the cancers in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach.
- Inflammation that is present in smokers, obesity, and glucose. It is present in omega-6 fats. Inflammation increases NFKB (marker of inflammation) and is involved almost all cancers. Inflammation damages DNA prevents its repair and promotes angiogenesis (production of new blood vessels that feed new dividing and multiplying cells). Some chemotherapeutic agents and radiation increase NFKB, making cancers resistant to treatment and promoting the spread of cancer/ recurrence of cancer. Anti-inflammatory chemicals repair DNA after being damaged by different toxins and prevent angiogenesis.
- Charbroiling and frying meats produce heterocyclic amines, compounds that are linked to an increased risk of colon cancer. Corn-fed fats and omega-6 fatty acids, derived from omega-6 sources (such as prostaglandins), can promote cancer spread due to their pro-inflammatory nature. Elevated levels of omega-6 fats and cholesterol in the blood are associated with various types of cancer. Additionally, fructose found in high-fructose corn syrup is implicated in the development of several cancers, including pancreatic cancer.
Obesity
Anoxia is the lack of O2. Fat cells are cramped in the belly. There are different organs in the belly. Ligament and the belly wall presses on these organs, creating anoxia. In the belly, there is anoxia that attracts macrophages (stationary white cells). Macrophages release more than 30 pro- inflammatory chemicals that directly and indirectly promote cancers. For cancers to spread, new blood vessels are needed to feed them nourishment. The cancer does not kill; it is metastases (spread of cancer that kills. It is important to prevent or the new blood vessels.Aromatase Effect
With the help of the enzyme aromatases, fat cells in obese females convert the weak male hormones into estrogen. Estrogen promotes estrogen-dependent cancers, e.g. breast, ovarian, and uterine. The more the estrogen, the more the estrogen-dependent cancers.Poverty as a Cancer Risk in USA
Poor people do not eat enough fresh fruits and vegetables leading to a lack of antioxidants. There is a rise in glucose from the gut.Poor screening for cancers and poor quality of mammograms miss 10-15 cancers. Overall, the poor have limited, if any, access to the latest treatments.
Exercise & Walking to Prevent Cancers
- First, fat is reduced with exercise. Less belly fat means less anoxia. Fewer inflammatory chemicals are produced in the belly fat. Fat cells shrink; there is less production of estrogen, fewer breast cancers, and fewer recurrences of breast cancers.
- Exercise burns fat and sugar as well as reduced the fuel for cancers.
- Exercise increases antioxidants (special anti-inflammatory chemicals) that protect and repair DNA.
- Exercising muscles produces II6, which is anti-inflammatory. Exercising muscles also produces AMPK (adenosine monophosphate killer) that suppresses cell division.
- Roughly 1 Million cells are formed daily. These cells are supposed to be destroyed by “natural killer” (cancer killing cell). These natural killing cells are produced by exercise. Cancer killing cells is a daily affair. Everyone needs to exercise daily.
Cancer Survivors
- Cancer treatment is costly and includes serious financial issues. Some people develop a recurrence of the same cancer that they had; some develop different cancers.
- What is important is the survivor who must adopt a healthy life style. Healthy plant-based food and exercise prevent the recurrence of different cancers. Some survivors live long enough to develop DM, heart disease, of dementia. DO NOT SMOKE!
With treatment, the life of a cancer patient has been extended only 4 years. A healthy lifestyle can prevent about 60% of the cancers.
Break the Chain
Chronic metabolic disease (CMD), obesity, DM, HTN, heart disease, cancer, and dementia are part of a hierarchy. There is also a chain reaction. These are connected biologically. For example, if a person gets one of these diseases, that person will get the next one downstream. The chain must be broken.Start living a healthy life early on.
Follow a healthy lifestyle, not only to prevent the complications of the disease but also to prevent
the rest of the diseases.
For example, after a heart attack, the patient must eat healthy food and exercise (when the doctor allows it). Not only will it prevent the next heart attack but also its deadly and costly complications: heart failure, cancer, and dementia- the downstream diseases.
